Who these terms are between
These terms apply to work done by Leon Cogan, a sole trader trading as LC Web Design, 2 Nature Way, Bradford, BD6 2HG, UK (we, us) for you, our client. A written quote or order confirmation, together with these terms, is our agreement. If the two conflict, the quote applies.
Free concepts
A free website concept is a preview of what your site could look like. It is free, there is no obligation to buy, and nothing is owed if you do not. A concept stays our work until you buy it, so please do not publish it or pass it off as your own website unless you have purchased it.
Quotes and scope
Every project and Quick Job starts with a written scope and price. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it starts. Prices shown on this site as from are starting prices, and your quote gives the final figure.
Payment
Quick Jobs and one-page sites are paid in full before work starts. Larger projects start with a deposit (currently 30 percent) that comes off the total, with the balance due on completion. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. The accepted payment methods and the due date are stated on each quote and invoice. If you are a business and an invoice is paid late, we may charge statutory interest and costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act.
Domain and hosting
Where a package includes the first year of a domain name and hosting, the renewal price and date are stated in your quote. After the first year, renewals are paid by you, either to us or direct to the provider.
What we need from you
You agree to give us accurate content in good time and to make sure you have the right to use everything you give us, such as text, logos and photos. Delays in receiving content may move the delivery date.
Your content and ownership
Once a project has been paid for in full, the finished website and the content made for it belong to you, the client. Some parts are licensed rather than owned, such as WordPress itself, themes, plugins, fonts and stock images. Those stay under their own licences, and we will tell you which ones apply. Until payment is complete, we keep ownership of the work. We may show the finished site in our portfolio unless you tell us not to.
Changes, revisions and delivery times
Every project includes two rounds of revisions. Extra rounds are quoted separately as a Quick Job. We agree delivery dates in the quote and we do not promise dates we have not confirmed.
Support after launch
After launch we fix any fault in our own work for 14 days at no charge. Anything else, such as new content, changes or ongoing updates, is either a separate Quick Job or part of a monthly care plan.
Care plans
A care plan is billed monthly in advance and renews each month. You can cancel at any time and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for.
Refunds and cancellations
A deposit is refundable in full if you cancel before we start work. Once work has started, we charge for the work already done and refund the rest. Work we have delivered is not refundable, but if it is faulty we will put it right. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights, including any right to cancel, are not affected by these terms.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses. We take reasonable care and skill, but we cannot guarantee particular search rankings, sales or traffic. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
Problems and complaints
If something is not right, email support@lcwebdesign.xyz and we will reply within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that consumers may also use the courts of the part of the UK where they live. We may update these terms. The version in force when you accepted a quote is the one that applies to that project.
