Who we are

LC Web Design is the trading name of Leon Cogan, a sole trader, 2 Nature Way, Bradford, BD6 2HG, UK. We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at support@lcwebdesign.xyz.

What we collect and why

  • Free concept request: your business name, your name and email, an optional phone number, and what the business does, its services, tagline and notes. We use this to build your concept. We may create a private concept page at a link only you receive. It is not listed in search engines and it expires after 60 days. You can remove it at any time using the button on the page.
  • Enquiry form: your name, email address, the type of help you need, an optional website address and your message. We use this only to reply to you and to prepare a quote.
  • Optional marketing tick box: if you tick it, we may send occasional tips and offers. You can untick it or unsubscribe at any time.
  • Emails you send us: the contents and your email address, to deal with your request.
  • Clients and customers: contact details, project details and records of what you bought, so that we can do the work and keep proper accounts. Card payments are taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card number.
  • Hosting logs: our hosting provider records technical data (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
  • Analytics: this site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics we will ask for your consent first.

Where the information comes from

Almost always from you, through our forms or by email. For a free concept we only use what you type into the form. We do not buy lists or collect your details from other websites for this site.

Our lawful basis

We handle enquiry and concept details because you asked us to (taking steps before a contract) and for our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries. We keep client and accounting records because the law requires it and to carry out our contract with you. We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use service providers to run the business: web hosting and email (Namecheap), payment processing (Stripe, when you pay us) and, if you become a client, tools needed for your project. They only act on our instructions or under their own data-protection duties.

Transfers outside the UK

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is under safeguards recognised by UK data-protection law, such as the UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and free concept requests that do not lead to a project: 12 months, then deleted.
  • Concept pages: the link expires after 60 days and the page is removed immediately if you ask.
  • Client and accounting records: up to 6 years, because of tax and accounting rules.
  • Marketing email address: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to how we use it, ask us to restrict it, ask for a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month. We do not make decisions about you using automated processing.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ico.org.uk).
